well I'll start with the basics. made from 2001-2008 inclusive.
2001-2002 644cc lower compression
2003 644cc last of the three years with the SEM ignition and dell orto carb. had a couple of extra items over the earlier one. best one was the later clutch. different cam, not much better.
crude, a brute, really strong tractor engine. ball mains and 32mm big end.
2004 was the first of the new generation with keihin carb and Kokusan ignition. still 644cc and if running well the best of the lot. more of a road cam. roller mains - much better. headstock angle steepend.
2005-2008 not much change, exvcept went to 628cc with a shorter stroke, pork chop solid crank with 35mm big end.
they can all be in ANY ondition now so it comes down to eyes and ears. if they haven't spent a fortune then YOU WILL have to! simple!!!!
