Hello all-Just picked up a 2003 FE400E. Has a few issues but overall in pretty good shape. Doesn't look as if it was ridden much and has spent most of its life in storage. Still sporting the original front tire! lol

that is very original.
i DO A HOST OF MODS TO GET THEM STARTING AND RUNNING RIGHT.

try not to change much on it. there's an argument to say you should put some **** plastics on it to to go riding with.

I have new seats but they have browned off on top - but are cheap! a good interior trimmer would mix n match.

I have the same bike. Bought it because my 550 was getting to be to much for this 60yo unfit bloke to handle. Best thing I ever did. You will luv it:eek:

A gem. Agree with Taf- get some other plastics to use.
Surely soon these things will appeciate and be worth good money- but in the mean time, enjoy it!

Thanks guys for all the great comments. For now I am just going to put some new tires on it and get it running then ride it like I stole it, lol.

I am interested in the mods Taffy mentioned that get it starting and running right so I will be doing more reading on the forum to figure out some of those.

probably best going to my Facebook page and looking at a video named 'the 10 things you need to do.....'

lots of videos of Husabergs starting.

Thanks Taffy I did actually do that! I also wished I had read more PRIOR to ordering the new stator. I ordered the RMStator unit and when it arrived I checked the OHMS and it was 1750. Fortunately I ordered it through Amazon and so returning it was a snap. I did see you had some listed on ebay but the shipping was really off for some reason. Anyway I went to your website to place an order and saw I also had the option of having my old one repaired. In your opinion what is the better way to go? New or repaired?

IMHO it is to buy new. the repaired ones were going as often as the new ones but with the repaired one he wanted to know where you'd been riding at the weekend and basically - long story short, the warranty was a fight.

yeh, get a new one.

I'm on my own now and the web site and ebay lsitings never get looked at. the slip is that i can brag; "all products held at 2018 prices!!".

every cloud has a silver lining as they say!

Thanks Taffy-Just ordered a new one yesterday from the Taffmeisters' website hopefully it won't take too long to get here from the UK. With shipping to the US it was 200GBP.

Hey Taffy the stator made it today! Super fast thank you. Worked flawlessly, bike started right up just need a few carb adjustments and I will be good to go.
