Hello there all,

Wow, I haven't been around for a long long time, apart from the odd really brief look in.

Hope all is going well over here.

I still have an FS650 lying around in my garage as a pretty big paperweight plus I've got lots of various parts lying around and I can't decide what to do with them (the parts that is as I'm keeping the 650 for now). Otherwise my Husaberg involvement has been pretty much zero for some time.

So other than Taffy being up to his usual tricks  , what's going on and how is everyone?

Hey there sir!

I think about you almost every time I read an exhaust thread :) . Very glad to see you and hope things are going well(better) for you.

thanks,

Hey json,

Nice to hear from you.

Yes, things have been interesting. I am a father now - and amazingly he's two years old now (shows how time flies eah?) - that has certainly distracted me.

As for other stuff, the doctors finally found out that what had stopped me racing, then riding, then functioning, was a neuritis that unfortunately has caused permanent damage. I'm been getting treatment for a while now and we've made some good progress. Whether I'll get back on and ride motorbikes properly is another question but at least as part of the treatment I am getting out on a mountainbike - at least that's something. Actually, I know I'll be burned at the stake for saying this on here, but it was really nice the first time I traveled across some countryside and it was all quiet

Who knows, with poor business motorbikes are seeing, maybe they'll go from 2t to 0t and jump on the growing bicycle bandwagon with a Husaberg force edition mtb!

Hope you and family are keeping well!

Hey, congratulations on being a dad! Time does fly. I spend a lot of time looking at Chloe and trying to figure out how she stretched so much in so little time.

I'm very sorry to hear of the permanent damage, but would just like to say that amazing things sometimes happen in regards to recuperation. I hope you stop by a little more often to let us know how goes it. :)

I don't see a downside to the 0t and if Husaberg is going to do it, now's the time since they kind of threw the "4 stroke force" stuff in the crapper. As it stands, people probably wouldn't be surprised if they started marketing bicycles and snow skis.

thanks,
json

Hi Simon,
I've recently wondered how you've been doing. You were such an prolific and intelligent poster here for so long. I do recall your mention of medical issues a long while ago and am glad to hear you're making progress.

Like json, I recall the time and effort you were putting into your custom exhaust. Seems you were designing it to be light and quiet. But that's just going on my fading memory.

Congratulations on your two year old son! That's fantastic news. I'll bet he's already tried climbing aboard the 650.

Thanks for saying, "hi". Keep up the good fight bro. I'll be watching for a Husaberg 0t as I certainly won't hear it.........

Hi Simon.

Sorry to hear about the permanent damage. But like Json said, miracles do happen. And if we try to help them with exercise and big will-of-mind they occur more often. Positive thoughts can be a big part of a miracle :D

I sometimes think of the guy with his own exhaust dyno in the shed, that was you right?! I spoke with a guy here in Sweden I was racing with about your work as he also was building some exhausts based on his own ideas what sound really is. He even got some of the american makers interested in his ideas. I was so bummed out that I couldn't remember that it was you.

Cheers

Hey guys,

Lovely to hear from you. It feels kind of nice to pop in a say hello!

Yeah, it was indeed me doing the exhaust stuff - some of it is still sat on the side waiting attention someday :)

Finn is most definitely a petrol head and he's already sat on the 650 a few times but his passion seems to be more cars, I'm afraid !

Thanks for the kind words and all the best,
Simon
