Hello everyone!
I just got a Husaberg, which is converted for flat tracking.
Its is lowered, it has ktm duke front suspension, and no front brakes as well as flat track tyres.

I'm looking forward racing the beast this year in UK Dirt track riders championship.

Any one like to have a look here is link to our website
DTRA Dirt Track Riders Association Flattrack Racing in the UK

It's my first serious race bike and I need a lot of help with set up and general tips for running.

Many thanks for having me here.

so what engine have you got then bomber? what year is the bike?

I can give you quite a bit of help with the knowledge if it helps you? PM me or call.

regards

Taffy

Hi Bomber,

welcome to the site, has your bike been raced by someone else in DTRA? I know there was a guy racing a Berg a couple of years ago.
The set up for Flat track is pretty specific on the handling front compared to normal offroad use.
Having said that if you went to Dirt Quake and saw the chopper race you wouldn't think so!
I know Dave Clark Racing sponsor a couple of the top racers in the championship but they are on 450 Kawasakis so not sure of his input.

Get some photos of your bike up and good luck this season,

Almost forgot.............Go fast and turn left!

Cheers Taffy, already spent hours on your website.
Definitely need clutch lever and gear lever, since I tend to spend more time sliding on my ars then on top of it hehe.

Engine meant to be bottom 450 and top 600, not sure how would it work but got a bike from a friend who reckons bike had only 1.5 hours running after rebuild. I know it doesn't sound too good, i tend take such statements with a pinch of salt.

I'm picking bike in few weeks time so will work out what I need then.

By the way it is 1998, picture below.

Hello and thank you!
Nope, bike was a enduro and survivor custom Tee side wizard Mike chopped it up and turn it to flat track.
It will be my second season so plenty to learn, there are few guys with a bit of experience so no doubt will need to iron out handling issues.

Last year I had crf450 form Alan(was renting his bike from previous year) who last year was with Kawasaki team together with Oli, Kawasaki is doing proper job, and Pro class is super competitive.

Dirt Quake is bonkers, love chopper racing, it is proper British DIY Man from sheds type of thing, super nice people, and small event still.

Yeah, going fast rule!

Yes Bjorn,
Wales is MEGA, have you been to watch the race there?
It is longest track in UK.
It's on horse track, last year went bit too quick... glad there is so much space around!

See you there this year perhaps?

Hope to see you in Taigarth....

yeah, went a last year or the year before, better than speedway!! enjoyed it. Only live 10-15 mins away from the track, give me a shout when your down, ill come and say hello.

Sure thing Bjorn, let's hook up.
That track is super nice and plenty of space for camping, took my boy there and we had brilliant time.

By far people who own that little cafe on track have best food of any places I visited racing, local bacon and sausages mega!

Taffy, I don't know anything about geometry but that bike you are building looks very interesting.
I'm definitely going to be visiting you :D

I'm afraid I don't get the Ammanford.
Please be "gentle" I'm polish and in UK for last 14 years, and still a lot of things are "lost in translation"

I remember Ammanford? the town centre, once trapped - never released if I recall rightly? a bit like Peel in the IoM!

I do a lot of chassis design work and would be interested in helping you and learning more myself.

look for a thread called "BEARUP" http://husaberg.org/suspension/18058-bearup-machine.html

Ammanford is a town about 15 mins away from the track, back in my homeland of the Isle of Wight we would call this type of town a "one eye, one buss town" due to the amount of inbreeding and lack of investment.

Back in the day mate, but the new Swansea is a different place.......

beating Man U yesterday, twice in the same season!

Thanks for reminding me.
I did live in Wootton for seven years to make up for it though:p

Saw GLC at the festival a few years ago, amazing. Never laughed so much.
