Hello everyone, just wanted to say hello and what a great place to get all the answers I have been looking for.
I'm hopefully getting my bike in a week or two, I went for a brand new 09' fe 570 after reading all the good reports it gets :bounce3:
The last Berg I had was back in 2004 and it was a fe 501, which was great, but went bang! with about 60hrs on it.

Hi Dave. Yeah, this weather has been nuts. Hard to believe really. Ive got one hour on my 390 - looking forward to getting out riding one of these months!

There was some really good deals on 09 570s. I was tempted myself, but wanted the 390 for our really tight woods and mountain riding.

I'm in Calgary. Where are you?

Hi Garrison,

we live down in Okotoks, we moved here last April from York in the UK, so this winter has been a bit of a culture shock, but up to now we love it.
I joined the Rocky Mountain Dirt Riders, they all seem a really good bunch so I'm looking forward to getting the bike out and muddy :D
Where abouts do you ride/race?

Looks like we are getting a good following of local Alberta riders on here. I am from Calgary as well, and a member of RMDRA too.

Looking forward to this snow going away and trying out the FE570 on the trails!

BBB.

Yeah Dave, if you have survived this miserable winter, you're set. This has been one of the worst I've ever known, and I've lived here a long time. (I also used to live beachfront in Los Angeles at one point, and I'm missing that at the moment).

I'm just north of you on the south end of Calgary, right at the turnoff to the 22x. With this location, Mclean Creek is the easiest access for riding. It's going to take a long time for the trails to dry out after this winter, but we'll get there eventually.

Waiparous, west of Cochrane, offers great riding as well. It's a bit further to go obviously, but I like it out there.

I am also an RMDRA member. I just joined this year. I've been racing and riding sportbikes and sport-tourers for 25 years - the Husaberg is my first dirt bike. I did a couple of years on a WR250R dualsport before buying this thing. I have a lot to learn off road, but I'm getting a bit better. Looking ahead to doing a couple of races this summer to accelerate my learning curve.

RMDRA has what is called their "Guided Rides". They happen every wednesday evening at Maclean Creek. This is a great opportunity to meet like minded and skilled riders for a great ride led and swept by expereienced guys who know the area. Can't wait!
