Hello all, i am new to green laning and have been offered a 2007 450 for £1700, the bike does not have any history to speak off and needs a general tidy up, but other than that it seems ok, can i have any advice whether it be to walk away or if they are worth taking a punt on, any advice will be appreciated.

It would be kind of on the edge ... For a bike with no history I'd think it was a little high. Hard to extrapolate from the market I'm in though.

How many hours on it?

They're really fun bikes and '07 is considered a good year ...

'Kay! That's not too scary. I think a bike like that would probably go for that amount here in Iceland - but it's a remote market so bikes are kinda expensive - but personally I'd at least try to get it for less here.

So only estimating and interpolating it could be a nice deal or it could probably be had for a little less maybe?

As a reference / FWIW, a friend picked up an '05 450 with 240 or so hours on it - no history to speak of - and it's running really strong :) They're good bikes. He got it for like €750 or so. (Over here!)

That is great, thank you, i will have a think and if i decide to take the gamble i will try and get it cheaper.

I'd definitely wait a little for someone who knows the UK market a bit better to post up! I'm sure they're just still having their morning tea or something :) haha

Lol thanks for that mate, i am at work, i am sure i should be doing something more constructive lol

Hey Bagsy,

the price doesn't look too bad compared to what's on ebay and gumtree.
It all depends if it's been looked after and if everything works as it should.

If it's local have a look and come back with any specific questions.
But it should pull cleanly and run pretty quietly and the leccy boot definitely needs to be working.

Good luck and let us know how you get on.

Carl.

(Kris, it's Afternoon Tea over here :p)
