Hello,

i'm new in this froum and want to say hello. I'm from southern Germany Ingolstadt and working at audi.
Last week i bought an fe 600 98 and now i' searching for help.

Because this bike was out of use for 4 years and now i cleaned the carburator and also the spark plug is working also but the engine will not run (but outside temp about 0°C).

Is there anything else what i have to look for or has somebody of you an repai or owner's maunal ?

Are there any parts in the engine which will be better replaced befor i change to supermoto?

This time i'm riding an Yamaha tt600R SM but thats not enough power ;-)

So i changed to swedish power

THanks for your help

Good choice,I changed my TT600R-SM also for a Husaberg.
Big change ,for the good!!!For your engine problems,There are plenty of people here with great Berg knowledge who can give you some tips.
Welcome to UHE.

And you don't have any problems with your engine?
For special valve aktuator bearings?

Welcome sir!

Have you gapped your valves?? Is your carb adjusted to the proper specs, regarding Idle speed and Idle air mixture?

You can find the Hard starting guide in the downloads sections. Read it, it has lots of good stuff in it.

No i don't because i've no adjustement values.

But the engine ran 4 years ago without problems. Do you know how many turns the air valve must have and the stand speed screw?

Sorry for my bad english but i don't know how all the word are spelled correct but i hope you understand me..

Thanks

Hey buddy,

Honestly, I'm not so sure. I have only had smaller bikes. BUT, like I said, head to the downloads section, and you should be able to download the manual for that year. In it, will be all the settings for the carb. Good starting point. The "99 workshop Manual" page 22 is what you should look for in downloads.

After you have tried these things, and read through the Hardstarting guide, and STILL can't get her fired up, come back and drill us with what you have found.

Good luck!!!

PS- How's your leg feel :D :D

Also, check your signature at the bottom, I don't think you are saying your third line quite right.

The valve lash is 0.1mm or .004"..........

Go here for the 1/8th turn method which will be the easiest way for you to get it spot on.

The carb setting for a '98 Fe600 are:

Main Jet: 195
Needle Jet: DR268
Needle: K51
Needle clip posn: #3
Pilot Jet: 35
Throttle: 40
Float valve 300
Starter jet: 45
Mixture screw 1 1/2 turns

First thing you will need to do is go to the "downloads" section of the site.
I have link HERE to get you there and you should be able to get a copy of a workshop manual or go to the www.husaberg.se website and they have a downloads section for you to download a manual. Happy husaberg fixing and welcome to the site!

Regards,

:D :D Wiekommen Sei! :D Ich bin Doctor Corey . Welcome and congratulations on your trade-up. You'll get that bike running soon enough with some good technical help from the UHE. Regarding your English, it is about as good or better than some of the scholarly compositions posted by our rocket scientists. 8O Auf wiedersehen, Corey

Thanks so far,

on saturday i'll trie it again because today's about -5°C. I checked the carb settings and they are correct.

Have you guys some other tips for changing the engine to Supermoto. Are there any problems with the oil (pressure, temp)?

So again thanks for your help and i think this forum is a good one.

If the engine is running at saturday i've another few questions, but more on sunday.....

Schönen Abend noch......

Hi suicideracing,

Welcome to this site and congratulations to your new bike.
I hope you´ll like it.
From the technical side of view I have no doubts that your new Berg won´t last supermoto use.
Usually the 98 models didn´t have problems of failed rockerarms rollers, because of weaker valve springs. That was a problem that came up with the 99 models.
You should keep in mind that the Husaberg is a sport motorcycle and that you can´t compare it to the TT, if you have expected to ride the same distance in kilometers or maybe hours you can forget it.
How many km´s has your Berg on the clock?

I´m from Germany too. So, if you want, you can write me an email, so we can even write in german. For some technical advices it´s easier.

greetings
hribman

Say,

You said in your newer post that it is running. How'd you do it??

-Parsko

I cleaned the carb in an ultrasonic bath
I did it with a new spark plug and i turned the fuel mixture screw 1 1/2 turns out an the stand speed screw 3 turns out.

Then choke on 3 times kickin without ignition
Choke off an 2 time kickin full power ....... and it's running .

All at -5°C temperature off the engine....

great or?

Hi

i'm from germany(magdeburg) too, and i have since last saturday a Husaberg FE501, modell 1998.

thats my first husaberg, before this I drive Husqvarna or Yamaha.

I need some informations:

oilchange every 500km?
which oil?

it is a E.P.R. Racing Exaust installed, but without changing the "vergaser", is that allright?

thanks.

I think thats right with the oil change every 500km and "vergaser" is carburator. But i don't drive on the road only on race track and i change my oil after every training.

So where are you from in germany?
