Hi i am from Finland i bought 650 fe 03 sometime ago and took it engine apart,I am looking advise to put engine together,i noticed that taffy got crank shims on sale but when i opened my 650 engine there where not any shims,i wuold like to know how to measure to needs shims and so on?

close the cases back up with the crank how it is right now. slap the crank hard from left to right to left and measure the crank float with the 'heel' of a vernier gauge.

roller bearings = very, very easy and you want 0.55mm+
ball bearings = ver difficult because you want the crank to move a little in the bearings. you need about the same float.

i use a copper hammer and on the flywheel side this is easy. on the primary gear side it is more dangerous because you must protect the end of the crank (the oil feed hole). be careful!

Thanks i also need to know Exactly where shims go on cranksaft, also important is know what is conrod tolerance on crancsaft, mechanic say that too much tolerance drops too much oilpressure.

I am also interest dellorto jetting or kits what are availeble at the moment carborator is too rich.

the flywheels should measure 60.00mm across. this normally equates to around 0.4-0.5mm float for the rod.
the shim goes between the crank flywheel and the back of the main beaing. prefereably always on the right.

regards

Taffy
