I’m new to Husaberg but not new to constant hands on to prevent breakages and retain known failures to a minimum.

I raced road race motorcycles for 12 years and did trackdays for 23. I ride gsxr 750s from 2006 to 2018 . I build my own race spec engines , do my own porting and head work . I hire a tuner and even hacked the ecu for unleashing the bikes full potential. 151 rwhp 750s require a lot of maintenance and premature freshen ups.

At any rate I’m a bergamaniac now . I play on a 2002 650 . Having issues already . Died on a ride . My instincts told me stator. SUZUKI also has stator issues regulator rectifier goes bad from warm airflow from ambient and the radiator being engineered poorly. But this bike is different . Upon inspection all of the wiring is hard and brittle . I’m just replacing every connector with high quality 2 wire weather pack connectors . Because I put the old stator back in it after cleaning it and bike fired right up . I then re assemble all plastics etc and bike won’t fire .

So that’s what led me to believe short to ground . All the wiring is worn and discolored . So that’s where I’m at I’ll report back my end result.

Also I’m drilling an 1/8 “ hole in bottom of stator cover for moisture wicking

Engine work and porting etc is always of interest here. We love pictures!

check the stator readings
red to black is 2,750 and green to black is 165ohms. it is the red to black that goes.
if you have a good reading just isolate the stator and coil from everything else. just pull all the other coil wires and leave them in abeyence. watch the ornage doesn't touch anything - that is the kill wire.

cheers

Thanks guys . I appreciate it .

Due to competitive edges that are legal but wanting to stay competitive I can’t share specifications or pics but I can show pics of the process and dyni numbers with my tuners in Fremont California . I’ll email my program record keeper aka my wife and ask her to drudge some up . I have a 2013 gsxr 750 putting down 151 to the rear wheel as of yesterday . Lost some power but I am concentrating on more races that don’t go dnf t
Due to Mechanical’s or crashes . So faster safer this year ., woot woot
