Hello and 1st Question: TE300 Fuel Consumption/Tank Range

Hi Folks from a potential Husaberg owner.

I am seriously considering a new 2013 TE300 and would like to know what sort of tank range I could expect?

Planning to ride some longer course Rallys that are up to 140/200 miles which includes 3 or so special tests, so much of the lap is fast trail riding or hanging about for the specials.

There is usually an opportunity to have a fuel can sent ahead, but just in case I'd really like to know what can realistically be achieved from a full tank.

If there is any advice/opinion about the 2013 TE 300 in general (maintenance/suspension/handling/reliability etc etc) then I'd be pleased to hear it or indeed satisfied owners out there?

Thanks in advance - husamarky.

Re: Hello and 1st Question: TE300 Fuel Consumption/Tank Rang

Hello,

I have had a 2011 Husaberg TE 250 for 2,5 years now, which is basically identical to the 300 apart from the cylinder. Hope some of my experiences with this bike can be of help to you.

The fuel consumption on my bike is between 3-4 liters pr hour. This is during medium speed enduro/tight trails riding. So I usually get around 3 - 3,5 hrs of riding out of one full tank (note: I think the 2011 has a larger fuel tank than the 2013).

Regarding maintenance and reliability on these bikes, I am 100% satisfied. My bike has 135 hrs on it now. I changed the piston at 120 hrs, thats the only maintenance done on the engine apart from gear oil changes every 20 hrs.
Other parts changed are: new seat (old foam saggy), new wheel bearing rear, new bottom bearing in rear shock, new shift pedal, new bearing in rear brake pedal, new chain guide, and quite a few brake pads and chain/sprockets. So in other words just normal wear items.

The bike has never stopped or had any issues. The bike is ridden hard both in training and races. Some owners have problems with the e-start..mine to seized up after about 1 year (probably from lack of use). But I removed since I never used it and the bike is almost impossible to stall. When warm it starts on the first kick, even in gear.

Regarding jetting I never touched it, the bike performs flawlessly with stock jetting in ranges from +35C to minus 15C and snow. No issues whatsoever.

Also I recommend installing a FMF Gnarly or Fatty pipe, gives you a very noticeable increase in bottom and mid power.

I´ve been servicing the suspension at 50 hrs intervals at my local Husaberg dealer.

The 250/300 is highly recommended by me. Very easy to ride, low weight, excellent handling in tight trails, wears you out less than a 4T, low maintenance, easy to work on and smells very good (with Motul 2T-oil :D )

PS! These are my personal experiences with this particular bike, I am sure other riders out there feel completely opposite about this bike. My best advice is to try several different Bergs and see how you like them, both 2 strokes and 4 strokes. We are all different with different preferences. If your primary riding is rally style/higher speed, a 4 T could maybe be a more suitable bike for you.

Re: Hello and 1st Question: TE300 Fuel Consumption/Tank Rang

your looking at least 50 miles on a tank for trail riding.

if your in the uk and know which rally's you want to do you might want to check the 300 is allowed as some rally's are either banning full on 2st enduro bikes or running them in a specific 2st sports class that not all cater for.
