i got through two lowers during the first 3-4 years of ownership and over the last two years i've knocked out the upper which isn't even in the muck and mire!!!!!

so please report in which order and when you knocked yours out?

I've not done either, yet... Replacing the upper and lower on my list of things to do this winter...

07 650, 80 hrs and still OK

98 501, one bottom shock bearing and the rest is still original, just stripped and lubed annually, with 30,00 km which I reckon is outstanding.

I'll bet that the Berg and KTM lower heim joints are the same. Many KTM owners replace the sometimes troublesome heim joint with the longer lasting basically troublefree F-Bushing from Synergy Seals. I just installed the new X-Bushing from Synergy which is an ingenious device that allows for altering the rear ride height and shock mount geometry to some extent.

They are the same, just put the KTM one in mine since you could only by the Berg one as a kit and it was twice the price.

I actually have a set of those heims from Synergy Seals but have no clue where exactly they belong. Anybody has a photo?

Two lowers and one top in that order. The last one I got was a rear to keep in stock.
It is called a kit for 29.00 but it is just the heim joint in the box.

can we get synergy seals in the UK?

Yes, the top and bottom are the same Heim (junk) joint. I am not sure if the Husa's are the same shock clevis setup as KTM???

Rob

no we have heims both ends (we phuqed up twice!)

I replaced the bottom heim about a month ago. The top was OK.
From memory (which is pretty bad) I think the top is a smaller joint with a 10mm bolt and the bottom is bigger with a 12mm bolt.
The KTM bottom is the same cos that's what I used. Don't know about the top.

Coops

The Husa uses 12mm top/ 10mm bottom bolts.
The Kato uses 12mm top/12mm bottom bolts

The Husa uses exactly the same top Heim as the Kato (5018.0005),but the top mount widths are different
(KTM 24mm,Husa 26mm), so even though the actual bearing is the same they dont use the same adapter/mounting bushes.

ausberg - spot on ma son!

kaboom

what have you?

Yes Taffy, the top is a smaller Heim

Top is a KGW 1525 (15mm bore,25mm OD,)
Bottom is a KGW 1632 (16mm bore,32mm OD)

The bushings that press into the heims are KTM or Husaberg specific due to a combo of different mounting bolt sizes or different frame mounting widths.

so if kaboom is still reading this he may still supply both? right?

Taffy
