Hard to start Husabergs

While I was in the gargage last night I tried a trick on my (kick start only when cold) 2001 FX470e. I pull the compression release in just til I feel it "ride the cam". Starts every time now. This is after numerous valve adjustments, carb cleanings,selonoid, on a new battery and a new starter. I could get it to restart hot but no luck when it was cold.

I think this is in line with the topic that did not seem to garner much attention posted the other day, and the more I have thought about it the more it makes sense to me. the thread is here

I could have swore that taffy would have thrown this in big read letters in the front of the doc to address a lot of the hard start issues.

of course I know so much about these bikes and what makes them tick, that everyone should just believe me... :roll:
