hi im also having a real hard tim findin nuetral while the engine is running.
any advice

this is typical of Berg´s.
Try it when you are still rolling. It is very hard shifting to neutral when the bike stands (needs a bit of practice...).

Neutral is hard to find, unless you're not looking for it. Especially with an older Berg.

It's down all the way and then slightly up, and you need to let the bike roll a bit but even then you're never sure.

If I really can't find neutral, to restart it I will click it into a higher gear (like 5th) with the clutch pulled and restart it like this: I will have a lot less resistance and with the motor hot one kick is enough.

If exceptioally bad the clutch plates are probably worn into clutch basket, making them harder to release properly. Search for some threads by Taff about this.

find that i simply cannot get neutral from 1st but can tap down into it from second relatively easily.

yep bundybear has it!

you need to change the clutch basket. the drum will be fine. another thing- i asked i think it was 'faktor' to measure his plates and he had one warped plate. changed that and it was good to go.

to check a plate you go to an engineers and find the 'engineers plate'. if he can fit a feeler gauge under any plate-then renew it.

I wonder if upgrading for the Revloc auto-clutch would not be a good thing to do, knowing the quality of the work and of the alloy used, plus you would not have to struggle to find neutral anymore, you could just stop with any speed engaged.

Ticket price may be a deterrent (around $1000).
