hard kick-back when starting fx600

I have three bergs, 99 fx600, 98 fe600, 99 fc501. the fx600 will kick back hard when I try to start, the other 2 bike never do.. just wondering what might cause this, I about broke my ankle the other day... is there any thing that can be done to fix this?

ignition timing i'm pretty sure. a little over advanced.

I had this happen because of a vacuum leak.
I changed my tank to one without the vacuum driven fuel pump, and forgot to block off the vacuum nipple...
