They are Tapered.
28.5mm or 1 & 1/8 inch through the Tripple clamps
22.2mm or 7/8 inch through the hand grips
My EGO Bark Busters clamp on the Handle Bars where the taper bit is, which is about 26mm ~ 27.9mm
The above answer is for a FE570, it looks like the FX450 has a different part number. So I am not sure if the FX450 uses the Tapered Bars:

LOL, I have had 3 goes at answering this question. The FX450 must use Tapered Handle Bars as the Throttle and Throttle Grips are the same part numbers for FX and FE
