I replaced my Guts medium foam with the soft version, and I'm happier for it. I think this medium foam would still be a vast improvement on the hardness of the stock seat, but that's purely conjecture as I never got to experience the joy of the stock seat foam.
This is the regular-height version, it's used, and it looks like they glued and taped a softer piece of foam under the middle section (I'm not sure if that's a standard feature for medium Guts foam). It was on my 2008 FE550, but I'm pretty sure it will fit any of the 2000-2008 FE models. (edit: I'm not sure how 2009 ended up in my thread title, but I can't change it now. Silly typo)
Replacing your seat foam is a pretty easy job. You just need a staple gun and some (preferably stainless) 1/4" staples.
