I can never understand schematics, so if someone can tell me which wire to splice into for my heated grips I would appreciate it.

thanx

Use a tester or probe and find a hot wire that is hot when the switch is on, say the hot wire below the switch. If the grip warmers have a on/off switch with a light that shows that it is on then you could run your wire from the battery. Be sure to ground to the frame. Hope this helps.

Hey Kelsow,
What type are you trying to hook up.Usually there are pretty easy to understand directions on the back of the package.Red wire to power source ,through your switch and through the grips to ground. I say chuck them in the garbage and get a pair of MSR Cold Pros. :D ...nsman

Hi kelsow assuming that its a stock system hook up heated grip power
wire to hot side of light switch red w/white trace this is AC power from stator where you have approx. 95 watts of power Heated grips draws 35w
stock headlight bulb 35w tail light 5w if you have brake light 21w wich
would put stator at max output. Hooking up heated grips to red wire
(battery power) would slowly drain battery since DC output from stator
is approx. 28w I had my heated grips this way with no problem and warm
hands if you are using the thin under the regular grips heated grips zip ty
wires (throttle side) to collar of grip otherwise wire will break where wire
connects to heating pad. Have fun in the snow :D

The warmers are from Kimpex and are all ready wired up as I took them off my trade in. I want to wire them up separate from the light switch so I can run the warmers without the headlight on. I don't want to directly wire them to the battery as I will never remember to turn them off.

Gloves, grips, gloves, grips. decisions decisions.
Maybe both eh nsman

Hi kelsow you will have two flat spade terminals one will go to head light
the other will be coming from stator thats the place spice in your grips
thats hot side of switch it has power once engine is running, best way to
keep your hands warm is to use soft hand guards also know as elephant ears MSR makes them that way there is no wind on your hands and regular gloves works just fine but there are times when cold pro are necessary such as wet snow on low braches or pouring cold rain
enjoy :D

Perfect! Thanks for the info.
I already have the handle bar muffs and they worked great last year.
