Hi there,
I've installed grip heaters on my 09 FE450,but I'm not sure where to get the positive from
I don't want to run a line back to the battery,I'd prefer to splice in,but where?
I've only found one live wirefrom the ignition switch block, which is on,motor off or on.
Should I use this or is there another that does go dead when the motor is off?
Help!

Cheers

I have always run the grip heaters on my bikes off of the 'hot' AC headlight lead. The hot grips are fully compatible with AC. An advantage of the AC hookup is that the hot grips turn off when the engine is shut down, does not compete with the DC charging system, and will not run the battery down.

Hi Highlander
there is 2 cavity connector on top clamp connector bracket this is where front brake light switch connects in that connector there is a blue and yellow wire, that is hot soon
as the eng is started this one is better than feed for the head light since it will have constant load from the headlight
note this bike does not have a AC power source it is all DC

Hi Viking,
I found that brake light positive as you said. Thanks.
Seems like a small cable to running extra 36w through it.
Sure its ok? I'm fabricator ,and beside my mig & tig machines, electric's freak me out.

highlander
it shouldnt be a problem they run the optinal cooling fan on that cicuit
the horn and LED brake light does not use much power

Viking!
Thankyou!
All is very good now, especially right hand, which had the most issues.
