I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on the best fork set up on an 03 400 for green lane/trail riding, i've been playing around with the front end and it is superb on fast tracks but falls a little short on rocky stuff. ive altered the oil level and weight as well as other adjustments but they still feel "wooden" anyone have any set up suggestions?

Just read the link, think it is going to take me awhile to sift through it.but as it's tipping down all weekend it will give me something to do
Thanx

ha-ha well after ktmlew let go i guess i've gone in a full circle!

but i rode ady's, gruntenberg's, cypher's and cranksnapper's last weekend. my suspension is out of sight compared to theirs. however, you do sit taller. just an offer that's all!

taff hate to break the bubble you live in whilst your bike was nice is wasnt dramatically better than any other husaberg i've ridden, considering the amount of work its had done on it

also to compare suspension is irrevelvant i bet i weigh at least 4 st heavier than you.

yes to be fair yours was the best of the four by a long way and i should have mentioned yours to be the exception. ady's and cranksnappers were awful. CSs was done by Dr shox and set for 16 stones. horrible.

yes i have done a lot of work on it but i also understand suspension now. i can transfer that knowledge. i now have far better suspension than originally done by 'full travel' who is now the UK importer. and it will get better and better..

chamber, if you didn't know, cypher is from newtown in wales and the real welshman on the site! this is my lifetime nik and was given to me as a small boy by all the kids as my mum and da are from betws-y-coed in north wales.

a nickname is a nicknamefor life - right?

I get the feeling that by the time i finally get the suspension as i like it i shall be looking to change the bike :( are well so be it
are well it must be really disheartening for you not really being Welsh then :D

believe me it's a burden that sits easily on these shoulders every jan-mar!

Taff sorry to say but you do talk s**t some times,to say your bike setup was by far the best of all the bikes at the IOM berg ride out takes some very vivid imagination on your part .
I never saw you floating past me on your magic carpet ride berg at warp speed though all i remember is sat behind you waiting for you to pick ya arse of the floor after cross rutting if thats working for you taff good luck .
Still theres a whole year of farting around with shims and bits and bobs ill keep watching with intrest which shim stack lives or dies .
Good on ya taff for havin a go but i think folks should also here how it realy go's

i wouldn't say it unless i really meant it! i'm crap at riding other people's bikes and hate opening the throttle too much and then i fall. but i really thought my set up was way better than yours. i rode within myself all weekend. yep i made mistakes but i don't ride rocks, or 3D or gulley's.

if you want to talk about speed as a suspension asset (they aren't really connected) let's talk butts quarry. otherwise i'll keep going at it. i'll get there.

it's not a measure of your googlies steve...

Rocks
3D`s
Gulley`s

Taffy your on the wrong bike mate 8O
Try a Donor Mobile if you want flat surface`s, that or a Meccano Set, cause or the fiddling to your suspension you`ve been doing sounds that it did`nt make a s**t`s worth of difference...

P.S.
Good luck with the new job but here`s a top tip - Keep your mouth shut and you`ll keep your job!!!
