Hi all,
Thinking of treating myself to a GPR Stabilizer, anyone running one at the moment who can give me some info on them (what type, how they fit?).

Thanks alot
brookester

p.s. well done to gruntunberg who picked up a trophy on sunday at Thorpe :wav: you can see the pictures at http://www.nrec.netfirms.com brookester: 159 gruntunberg:160

I fitted a Scott (Actually it is an Ohlins) one - used for the first time last weekend and works like magic - never new what I missed. It realy makes a difference, especially in thick/loose sand and over lots of loose rocks - if it gets very tricky then you need to wind it down again because you'll get armpump quickly. :p

Bought mine (complete kit) from www.btosports.com - I know, I am in South Africa but you wait +-10days for it to arrive and price is good.

Good luck!

i have a blue GPR on my 2003 fe 400.works fine, fits fine.it does help at times to settle the front end but the berg is a very stable machine and i feel i could live with out the damper.on my TM,i feel i must have the damper.i bet the damper is of more value on a 2004 and 2005 than a older Husaberg.dan.

Its going on a 05 550 FE, so hopefully i should notice the difference, the cost over here is £370, not sure if thats good or bad. cheers dan

BROOKSTER,is the price of that gpr stabilizer for the type 1 or the under the handlebar type.

that is a good deal ,just as cheap as in the US.Dan.you certainly are aware that that set up raises the bar height about an inch?i am not too tall so i have their type 1 version.dan.

Oh Tim here you are... We missed you.

Yeah that's what I thought too... I checked the different colors. I think the gold would be super bl...ustering.

I have been on vacation.Although bergs
don't need a stabilizer anywhere as
much as KTMs do,I found I could ride
longer with it,and it saved my butt a couple
of times when I couldn't miss a rock or tree
root. Just don't let SEAN arrange a welded
on stantion for you.

Hi Motoxotica,
I`m 6"3 so i ride with the 20mm factory bar risers now, so the V2 version should be Ding Dong (sorry, just right). Got the GPR ordered yesterday in blue, think it comes straight from the US because they`ve quoted 10 days delivery.

I have a v1 GPR.
I bought it to fit a crf from the staes as they seemed so much cheaper there. I then sourced a berg fitting kit from on here..(£20 as opposed to £134 from gpr uk)
Deffo worth having, great bit of kit.
Ive now got my forks right up through the clamps to allow super quick turning on tight tracks but the stability is still there cos of the GPR

So which kit would fit an 01 and give a 1-inch rise? The V.1 or the V.2 for KTM 00-05?

Thanks!

The V2...as the damper sits under the bars, it needs the extra height to clear it

The V1 fits over the bars but can also be used with Bar raisers

i talked to GPR and Scotts today.GPR says at this time they do not offer a kit for 2002 and older bergs.this makes me scratch my head but they should know what they are talking about and i was told this about 6 months ago as well.Scotts does have a kit for 2000 and newer bergs in either clamp on mount or weld on.the kit with the weld on mount is $429.00.dan.

Bizarre. Sales would sometimes stand by what their database says. I'd rather get the GPR than the Scott...

Thanks for that gix, looking forward to trying it out. Been motocrossing on the FE tonight, got a few tank slaps on, could of done with it tonight. Should be here soon.
