i know i only have tuned 400 but there are times i'd like the bike to rip and for the back end to move away and help steer. but the bike always opens softly and then fires. perfect for a wet track or infact best traction but not for ripping the earth from under me.

does anyone know about different 'cams' for roadbikes or dirtbikes? either on the carb or as we've seen before - at the throttle housing?

Maybe just a 450 or a 550 would be fine for him, England is not the land where owning an FE650 would make a lot of sense.

yeah, every 650 i've ever seen in the uk has only been in sm trim.
450 is as much as anyone really needs in the uk.
tend to find the 550's being used to trail ride or do rallys rather than h&h or enduro

taffy,

would it be possible for you to retrofit/adapt some of the 450 fc fittings/settings to your bike?
might get what your after.

lads, it's in the cam isn't it! which end though and has anyone swopped around?

Tafffffffffffffffff

Tafffffffffffffff the only things that will help you get what you want from your old 400 are;
1. a bald rear tyre????????
or perhaps the combination of a FC CDI, after market muffler, or a lighter FC fly wheel??
But,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,I think you could do with breaking the cob webs on the wallet and getting a new bigger bike.

Hey Taf
ya talkin about a quick pull throttle housing?? Guner gasser made one back in the day that had two cams for opening the throttle. one was about half a turn and the other was a quater. the quater was a "hand ful" on a kx5hunny.
ps
ya packed and ready
should I bring a kettle for your cuppa?

bob

i've got me tea bags ready fella for high tea in the afternoons!

yes, looking back i can't see why i didn't make it clearer. i wanted the throttle cam. as it is, in the meantime a link came up to it once again and i think i've put it in the 'goodies' section.

Taffy
