Been having a few nice days over in the uk recently (although it looks like the rain is back) and had a few nice ride outs ... hope everyone else is taking advantage ?

Also where has crispin disappeared to ? I was after sorting a summer UK UHE trackday sometime .... and grass track pete ? ive not seen them on or post for a while (just realised pete will probably be busy with the new arrival ...)

Anybody watch the moto gp at the weekend ?

Thats all folks ! hope you are all well :)

Weather has been superb in old blighty, had a few good rides too along my favourite haunts, back roads where only the brave sports bikers dare challenge. Glad to say took them all besides one lad on a GSXR something or other who left me on a long straight. Looks like your freshly rebuilt motor is running well then on-one-wheel?

Had a good couple of rides over the weekend, mondays sun made up for the motogp farse sunday night and mondays race had some good racing behind Stoner and Rossi. Hopefully a bit more action from them in two weeks............... my money is still on Rossi.

It must be a man thing....

Had a great ride out yesterday (greenlanes) unfortunately after about an hour one of our party (of 3) had a spill & broke his collarbone - ouch.... After the ambulance left (brilliant service - took about 2 minutes to reach us) we carried on for the rest of the day including a small liquid lunch at the pub.

Anyway - wives outraged - think we've got the morals of a snakes and that we should have ended the ride at that point to look after our mate - men folk say "why waste a good days riding - he's being well looked after, life goes on" , even the injured party agrees with us....ho hum...yet another misscommunication from anoither planet / species. (Cheers Chris).

Mate they are all the same, they just have different heads so you know which one is yours!!!

If i broke me collarbone would i rather be surrounded by some lovely nurses :D

or some ugly bikers who'd rather be out playing on their bikes :doubt:

I dunno plumbbob, i reckon rossi's days are numbered. the guy is an absolute genius don't get me wrong and he's definately the best racer on the track, but i think its only a matter of time and i think this might be the year. we'll have to see :)

Freaky its so-so ... its a bit smokey now :( but maybe thats down to something else. Other than that ive done another oil change and she's still pulling strong so il just keep my fingers crossed and the throttle open :D

Forgot to say i went to 3 sisters as well to watch a bit of the Nora event (i think thats what it was). Last minute decision between me and my mate (on a cbr600 rr who took great pleasure in takin the p*** about my inability to maintain a 'decent' speed on the motorway). Was a good few hours of racing, saw a mates-mate crash on the start and i think he broke his collarbone :( was riding a Berg actually, maybe he's on the forum ?
Anyway, hope the good weather returns lol, its been miserable today so no riding after work :(

I hope your wrong Smithy, Stoners so dull, if Rossi can pressure him again like last year i think/hope stoner will crack.
I hope a few of the others can join in a bit too, Dovi must be the most likely to trouble them at the moment.

I thought the 250 race was a great race. Big mix up with the favorites at the start and a relatively unknown comes through for second, this after leading the race for some laps.

Great racing back in the pack a ways as well.

Wish I could have seen the Moto GP race over here in the states. I just got to read the results about Mondays rain delayed race.

Stoner is a great rider no doubt, not afraid to let it all hang out on the bucking duc! However, judging from recent remarks, and some remarks from last year he seems to have an impetuous. almost spoiled brat side to him. Dunno perhaps I am reading it wrong? What say you all?

Almost every Moto Gp star in memory has been accused of being a spoiled brat...
Hailwood,Agostini,Sheene,Yes KR, Doohan Rossi and on ,,,seems to be the nature of the beast
after they retire they assume more normal personalities :D
Yes Rossi's days are numbered, but only thing important, is it this year?
Stoner seems to be able to relate to his tech people the nessessary info to allow them to make the correct changes to make his Ducati the best bike on more race days than anyone else...in a nutshell that is his genius.
Stoner and that Duc are magic..
In an interview Randy Mamola stated that in his opinion Stoner is the first of the new generation riders who has been able to convince himself that the can completely trust the electronics without relying on rider feedback...a difficult leap of faith but maybe there is something to it!

Think they should scrap the elctronics, it shoulod all be down to the riders right wrist/ability/bravery/stupity.
Stoner is a great rider but you need a personality to be a great champion.......... I love seeing Rossi win just to see what he'll get up to on the warm down lap.

Well said,

However, let's not forget the team of Burgess and Rossi who took a very ill handling Yamaha to a championship over the mighty Honda team their first year there.

Rossi IMHO has many good years left, and actually is at his prime, still aggressive when needed, experienced, and wiley. Vale knows how to win championships, and races with the former taking precedence. I think it will be a great year of racing. I'm looking forward to the next race!!!

I really do hope rossi can keep it all together and win a few more, i think the guy is amazing however theres gotta be a turning point where he starts to get 'old' (in racing) and the younger fitter riders will shine through. I do agree that stoners speed on the bike is down to his total trust in the electronics but thats just the way things are going and we'll never see a time when people will be spat off the highside left right and centre anymore. its just not safe and thats just technological advancement for you.

I love the underdogs doing well, Unfortunately i cant see Toseland doing so well this year, kinda got the feeling he was under a lot of pressure to do better than he is doing. ive got my fingers crossed for him but im not holding my breath.

Randy De Puniet ! He's gotta be my favourite underdog. He's got some great style and the victory wheelies he does are worth watching the whole race for !

An interesting season for sure.

We shouldve got a UHE fantasy Moto gp going .... :?:

What about melandri last year, no amount of electronics kept him on the tarmac, he got spat off that Duke plenty of times, now Haydens getting the Duke treatment already, i reakon hes shittng his britches. I really don't like stoner but youve got to admire his testes, they must be massive!

Too right!

Kallio did pretty well on his Ducati/motogp debut, can't wait till next weekend to see what happens on a more level playing field.
Definately seems to be something odd about the newer Dukes, Bayliss and Capirossi did ok three years ago.
Hayden deserves to do well just for being such a cool bloke............. he makes down to earth look stuck up

Got to agree there, hayden is a legend. Hope he does well this year after the **** deal honda gave him.

Oh yes, would love to see Hayden put a pass or two on Pedrossa........ grumpy little git.

Ive never taken to Hayden tbh ... want to see toseland do well but i think thats a long way off yet !

Toseland looks like a rabbit in the headlights at the minute, I think the fallout with Edwards has affected his confidence. I quite like edwards but i think toseland should bury him if he gets it together. He is a proven world champion and edwards isnt so its time to step up to the plate.

Edwards not a proven world champ............ he won the superbike championship twice, beating Bayliss the second time.
