Have a problem with a Husaberg 650 2008 engine in my crosscart !

You can not shift from first to second gear . Without it lands on the neutral between !

All other gears are operating properly , and from neutral to second it is nothing strange .

Anyone have tips on what can be wrong ?

Usually is the other way around. I find it extremely difficult to put it in neutral, in most cases.

I usually can put it in neutral if:
a) the engine is running and the wheels are spinning
or
b) the engine is not running

I'm not the right person to help you though.

i would think it has something to do with linkage throw if your cart uses linkage for the shifter. too much slop? slop could be the linkage or loose screws / parts in the internal shift mechanism parts inside the clutch cover.

no

the3 problem is the selector star. it has been placed in the wrong place.

simply remove the clutch and kick down and down and down and down until you are in first gear.

this should see the sprung selector rollor in the ditch ABOVE the neutral plateau.

above it because the gearbox turns the opposite way to the way you kick it.

so first is up one and then down for neutral and then 5 more down for 6th.

Thanks so much for the help guys!
Taffy, something like that answer was I hoping for! I wasn't looking forward to split the engine!

When I bought the engine, they sad that it was renovated, so most likely that got the selector star wrong!

But wouldn't in be problem between other gears also?

no, it would just show up really at Nuetral. the amount of gears you have is governed by the selctor drum not the star. that means that you should get 5 gears one side of neutral and 1 gear on the other nut you'll find you have 4 and 2 or similar. it's very easy to sort!

also look for some one marking one f the pins or a centre punch mark where someone was meant to "remember" to put the star.

Okay sweet!
Feels like I understand now!
I might take it apart to the weekend! Is i common that the star itself gets worn?

Thanks so much for the help!
