Well, my buddies VOR seized the big end bearing so it is completely dismantled in my shop. Can see the Husaberg influence on the top end and oiling system. Gear drive for the cam is way cool. Anyone have a clue as to where I can obtain a rod kit? Dan at Motoexotica is out and VOR is RIP.

Hi Dan,
The "Big End" is a known weakness on said motorcycle.

If I recall the connecting rod is quite long and nothing else is really close.
Perhaps repair as opposed to replacement is an option?

Pictures?

Best Regards,
Dale

This is suppose to be the USA distributor (according to VOR), but I also read on Thumper Talk about another place in the US called Frontline. I can't seem to get to Thumper Talk right now to check it out for you.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the help guys, I'll try and call Shane in NZ. US distributor in California is named Shane as well. He was out of rods. Rod went out at high speed (trying to keep up with my Husaberg as my Speedo kicked over to 101 ) and got severely hot. Bike seized like a 2 stroke! Brent had to clean his shorts out after finally stopping. :) Not sure I would trust it again. I'll press it apart soon and list dimensions.

Kenny Noyes was using a VOR for training in Spain. Said VOR lost the "Big End" as well. Months past without luck locating a suitable replacement. Finally, a bushed big end like http://www.carrilloind.com/ was the fix.

If I recall the connecting rod was very long and "quite heavy" given the stroke and displacement. Part of the problem no doubt.

Sincerely,
Dale

Looks like this VOR is getting sent to parts heaven. If anyone need goodies off of it let me know.
