I have a 2002 650 FSe with the original speed/odo driven by a gear on the front wheel spindle and a cable. The speedo has both mph and km/h but shows too low speed. At estimated 70 km/h in traffic it shows about 40 km/h.
At first I thought the drive gear was replaced with one for a 21” wheel but thinking about it again I realize it would then show too much and not too little as a 17” wheel makes more rpm at the same speed compared to a 21”.
Any thoughts?
Of course I know the option to fit a vapor magneto speedo or similar but I rather fix the original one if possible.
