Hi,
by default there is liquid silicone sealing between the cylinder head and the rockerarm cover (Engines 2000-2003). I was wondering if it makes any sense to build a "real" gasket for this part, since I'm afraid that small crumbs of silicone will clog oil channels in the engine somewhere, when they drop.
A thicker gasket would influence thermal conduction between cylinder head and rockerarm cover. Since the cover is a little higher, the distance between rockerarm roller and cam lobes will slightly increase, which could change the valve timing a little bit - maybe I'm wrong in that case...
Is there reasons why one should NOT build that gasket? Could it be HARMFUL for the engine with a real gasket?
