I am dissapointed that husaberg dropped the 6 speed trans from thier fc lineup. I am also dissapointed they have dropped the FX line entirely. Is there any rumors that have the fx line returning? My ideal bike would be an fc550/6, with enduro suspension, and an 18" rear wheel. Kick start of course, but e start would be okay. KTM makes this bike (mxc525), will berg make one?

If you want an FX just remove the lights of an FE. I think thats about all there is to it.

Hi brookester,

what do you mean? The difference between the FE and FC is not too much,
or what? Is there anything else except the electrical components and the transmission ratio (gears 1-3)? Maybe also the spring rate and springs set up.
You have to weigh up all parts which are equipped. It´s always not easy to buy a stock motorbike. There will always be some things to change.

Thats been under consideration, but the e start is what makes me hesitate. Does it add that much weight? And does the added maintenence of a battery and charging system become just that much more to do on an already high-maintenence bike?

take the e start off easy.get a good price for it too on ebay....!
i personally would not get a berg with out e start adds like 6 or 7 kg but worth every bit....!

cheers doug

The difference between the FX and the FE is not too much. I believe it is basically lights on previouse models. They never made the 550 in anything but FC manual start until 04. If you want a non electric start 550 I can sell you mine. It's a 6 speed, rev loc, lights added, az street legal, suspension revalved and lowered trail rocket.

From what I was told when I bought mine, the FX has the FC suspension, 6 gears with the 4th and 5th being longer(maybe FE?). Also an e-start and 18"rear wheel.

The FX has different shim packs in the forks also. Take a look @ the parts manual.
