FX450 stumbles off idle. HELP!!!

I'm new to both Husabergs and fuel injected bikes. Point me in the right direction.

I posted this in the Mechanical forum too. Sorry for the double post.

I just bought a 2010 FX450. It had a new fuel pump installed last year. It runs fine at high rpm, but when I blip the throttle off idle, the engine sputters and dies.

If this were a carb bike, I'd start by checking the accelerator pump, fuel screw & pilot jet but I have no experience with FI bikes.

So far, this is what I am planning to check: battery voltage & conmections, the spark plug & cap, the fuel pump pressure, the fuel pump filter, the in-line fuel filter, the fuel line inside of the tank, and the TPS.

Am I missing anything?

What is the TPS voltage or resistance suposed to be?

Thanks for any tips or advice.

Sounds like a good plan!

I'd clean the injector too. And the consensus I subscribe to is that it's good to get rid of the inline filter :) Some very good posts by Jon Andersson on here on those two subjects.

(Probably easiest to find them by searching with Google and adding site:husaberg.org to the search terms.)

Does anyone have specs/details/instructions to adjust the TPS? I have no idea what the voltage or resistance should be for a FX450.

Hmmm ... I *think* it's the same as similar-generation KTMs ... ? Might be a hint in the right direction at least!

Check the spark plug boot for arching run the bike at night and see if you have a spark grounding to the motor. The spark plug boots have been known to fail

Try a new spark plug

these are easy items to check that have failed on a friends bike and had us chasing our tails with fuel injectors fuel pump cleaning injector.

TPS 1.5 - 2.7 ohms

Voltage set point .601 stock

changed mine to .610 helped reduce some flame out issues

Pin out from connector shown on the right , note orientation larger gap at top

1=yellow signal wiper wire
2= Blue power wire + 5v
3=Black computer signal ground

to check ohms probe out yellow to black this should yield resistance
