.... cant remember the bloody name and cant be bothered to look it up.

anyway, turn your fcr upside down and you have the bottom cover for the squirty thing with 3 screws holding it on.

has anyone had the o-ring seal go in this?

i ask because my bikes been in the shop for weeks cos it stopped running. everything you can think of was checked, changed, checked, changed and the bike would not run.

the only thing found wrong was this o-ring had a notch out of it. changed the o-ring at 1500 tpday and the bike started and runs!

the cost?

£20

though it was commented that if i had been charged for the hrs it would probably be more than the bikes worth.

then i don't think they are telling you the truth fraser! by dint of good fortune they have either bumped into the answer or found it convenient to skirt around some daft mistake they made?

for instance, you don't touch the throttle when you start the bike so its not the problem at all IMHO.

If you have one of Dales kits you dont have a pump at all. I agree with taffy. It's not likely an accelerator pump issue

But in the end it runs and it only cost you 20 pounds. Some things are better left unsaid.

well, the mechanic doesn't quite believe that this was the problem, hence why i asked if anyone else had had problems rather than announce it as the definite fault.

am aware of Dales kit but not in detail, plus have also ran the 400 with the pump disconnected.

as for starting did the same on the 400 of not touching the throttle but on the 450 do 2 slow throttle turns, press the starter or kick it and off it goes, was told to try this and it seems to work.

as for the honesty of the well he's a one man band with no reason to tell porkies plus he can build husabergs with his eyes shut having been dealing the 650 engines for sidecars and sprint cars for years and having been trained up by the meister, Roland.

so i aint particularily worried.

perhaps porkies wasn't the right word, you obviously trust him but at the same time he is indicating that the problem might be something so infitesimily small that he couldn't be expected to find it - thus the hours.
