fuel problems on the 470.....

hi everyone, I have a 2001 fc470 with a full doma system (apparently) when i first got the bike i had trouble when i gave it full throttle, it had 32 pilot, k35 needle, and 185main. left the pilot as it starts and ticks over fine, dropped a k51 needle in, and upped the main jet to a 190, then a 195. for 4 months now its been fine, but last week the throttle became limited (when i hit full throttle it still fires but i seem to have 2ft flames out of the back) put a new plug in and it was fine. now its getting through a plug per day. possible its decided that a 195 main is too rich? (after 4months)
Also does anyone know where i can get a spec sheet for the engine internals as im planning on rebuilding it next month. (valve spring wear limits, selector forks etc)

cheers, Oz.

go into downloads and grab the info there on rebuilds and some specs. in the doc you mcan find upgrades and tips and tricks. in rebuild it will tell you the stuff the factory doesn't.

as for the missfire - you have a SEM ignition on the way out. PM sparks. he has a met in oz who has them ready as a swop item. if you have to ask about the SEM, well, just do search and you'll be ok?

lovely ill have a look in downloads. any idea on what sort of price i could be looking at for the SEM? by SEM do you mean flywheel, or stator? or the CDI type box under the tank? cheers.

why don't you have a little looka round fella?

you are asking a bloke from the UK to price an SEM stator for you? you do realise that?

go into search and put in stator and the authoor sparks. also use 'steve' as an author as well. he's a dingo lover as well and i think he knows the guy.

in other words, do it yourself because even if i answer these questions - -you'll have more!

regards

Taffy

A stator rewind should do you as long as thhe flywheel is not delaminating.

One common issue on the DelOrto is the neele and needle jet wearing out causing a very rich condition.
Your current jetting is what I used to run in an open exhaust 470.

im not australian taffy? cheers anyway though!
berger: as in needle valve? as i've put a new needle in. also open exhaust as in straight through, and stupidly loud? cheers, Oz.

Needle jet, as in the jet that the needle lowers into. Not to be confused with the float bowl fuel inlet needle and seat, although they will give you issues as well.
