Fuel filter kit just before injector

More filters likely can't hurt. I have a canam filter on the way. I ordered it before I saw this thread, then I thought I need to get this "new" KTM filter and maybe I won't install the canam filter. Then I called my dealer and he told me its already on my bike.....the question is if it works.

I'll probably still install the canam, but I'm on the fence now.

You ripper.. Bought the can-am filter but have not got around to installing yet,Looks like wont need it now off to order the ome one monday.

I checked my 2010 FE390 engine parts manual and this filter kit is not listed. It is not even listed on 2011 350 SX-F fuel rail. I think they would put it to SX-F after some clogged injectors tested on Bergs.

Well, the plot thickens. The filter kit is not listed in my 570 2011 Spare Parts Manual either. Now I'm wondering if the dealer gave me the correct info?

That filter already exists on the 2010 & 2011 Husaberg 570's(not sure about '09).
I just looked on page 22 of the FE/FS 570 USA 2001 engine parts manual and it doesn't show the filter in either the diagram or parts list. I will call my dealer and see what he says about this.

Please report back. I would have took it apart and looked already, but I intend to get the subframe tank and I might as well wait for that install to check.

If it is on the 2011 570, why isn't it listed in the parts manual?

I placed an order for a kit but my dealer tells me the part is backordered until July. They still insist it is a stock item on my 570. I called Husaberg directly and had them look at my VIN and they tell me it is NOT on my bike. It will, however, be a factory install with the 2012 model year.

I think I'll go with Husa on this one....

...I added a drop oil to the o-ring fitted it to the housing and it slipped in with no problems...

Thanks for the tip of the oil on the oring; I have just installed this OEM micro fuel filter in the fuel line of my 2010 FE390 - cheap peace of mind. For others in Australia I ordered mine via email from www.mototech.com.au as it wasnt in their parts catalog, but available.

Slightly off-topic, but do you guys have any idea how to clean a possibly clogged injector? Can it be flushed or given an ultrasonic bath..? Or just toss away and get a spare.

I'm more than happy and sticking with the Profill pump & tank filler neck filters. The tank neck filter slows down tank filling quite a bit but far better to stop c**p getting into the tank in the first place IMO. In the highly unlikely event that anything gets past this it will be caught by the pump sock. When I had the tank off and pump out to fit the filters the insides of the tank were squeeky clean. Not a trace of any of the debris some people have reported finding in there.

My injector have been clogged up real bad. Bought an ultrasonic washer and cleaned it myself. Went pretty well but problem reocurred after a couple of hours.
Picked it up yesterday from a company that cleaned it (ultrasonic) and then ran a couple of flow tests on it in a "real" bench. I had brought a friends injector from a 390 as reference. Before cleaning mine flowed about 50% of his, in a couple of different cycles. After cleaning they gave the same flow.
Installed it yesterday evening but will not ride for a while since I'm going in for knee surgery tomorrow. Will also wait until I get the small extra filter this thread is about.

Thanks for the report! And good fortune and a speedy recovery for your knee surgery. - ET
