fs650e needs a mx setup

I would like to have an mx wheel-tire setup for my fs650e so I can go offroad,
the only problem is that the radial brakes have to much stopping power in the mud.
So the front slips to much.
What can I do?
It's a 2007 supermoto.

have a set of pads with the middle third missing. do that to both pads, that will weaken them quite a bit. after that i would just be gentle - it is possible!

It's not ez going back and forth with SM versus dirt setups on the same bike.

Different wheels. Not a big deal. Just need two sets of wheels/tires.

Different brakes. SM brake too much for serious dirt use. Dirt brake ok or a little too weak for serious road use.

Different suspension. SM setup too slow/stiff for serious dirt use. Dirt setup too fast/soft for serious street use.

I suppose the best of both worlds would be a FE bike with knobbies for the dirt and dual-sport Distanzias or Scorpions for the street.

Thanks for the reply, I already thought of grinding part of the pads down.
and af for the suspension I think I'll start by softning the preload and rebound and set compresion harder.

Hey huser,

I don't think it is much of an issue. The front brake is easily sorted by buying a second hand off road master cylinder and caliper, then just switch over. I have a complete set in my garage so I can just chuck the off road brake on if I want to. Then you just make sure you buy a set of off road wheels with brake disks.

As for the suspension SM does go off road and do pretty hefty jumps and whoops and other stuff. You're never going to win an MX championship but you'll certainly be able to ride fairly well. You can adjust the SM suspenders to work better on the dirt too. I it becomes a limiting factor then there's plenty of used stuff out there at reasonable prices.

Hope this helps,
Simon
