Fs650e adjusting valve clearances

G'day again,

Just a few questions regarding valve clearance adjustment on a Husaberg fs650e.

1. Are both intake and exhaust the same clearance......using the 1/6 turn?......because every other vehicle I've had the intake and exhaust are different measurements?

2. Can I set the intake valve clearances when the exhaust valves are opening.....which would mean intakes are fully closed and able to be set? And vice a versa for the exhaust side? So don't have to find TDC!

Both are probably stupid questions but I'd thought I'd ask! (Taffy be gentle)

Cheers

1: Yes 1/6 on both
2: both rockers should feel "loose" before you adjust the clearence.

you MUST go for genuine TDC as the safe bet. it isn't hard - just get the two lines on the flywheel up at 12 o clock.

the auto decomp bump is veary near to TDC in cam degrees and I tried to set Husafergs tappets in a hurry without checking that about two Months ago.

bike wouldn't start, it then did and coughed and spluttered.

I knew straight away that I'd tried to 'be clever' and cut a corner.

so go for genuine TDC. use a T-bar and a 17mm socket. you'll be fine!
