I had to have a look after reading the comments! I spent the whole time waiting for the " wild riding"! My advice would be to stop taking silly chances with oncoming traffic! Other road users are usually the most dangerous part of riding on the streets and you will always come away second best in an accident ( if you come away at all).
Preaching at you like your father aside, congrats on a great bike! You will get a great deal of enjoyment out of it and the better you get at riding the more you will enjoy the bike instead of the risky stuff! Making use of the power and handling will far outweigh the enjoyment of slipping between cars! Is there a track close by you can use? Most tracks over here offer open ride days so you can pay a little money and enjoy cranking laps without the hassle of traffic. Lots of fun awaits you, go for it!
