Can anyone tell me if some 2003 501 supermoto wheels will fit a 04 FS650. Thanks! :)

Gutted the front axle is smaller on the 03 wheels, not sure about the rear as I just looked at the front one.

Makes more cents..... my 03 wheels bolt straight on my 04.

KTM do a kit for fitting the smaller axel into the forks with the bigger axle its only about £25 ish.

allows youto run the 20mm axel in the forks that normally take the 26mm axel

think i got my axel sizes right but you know what i mean.

just chekd it out on google. The official title is 'axel reduction kit' and it costs £17.

cents?

ha! ha¬

brains cost money round here!

regards

Taffy

Thanks for help guys!

Thanks for googling the reduction kit, all i need is a axle and nut then the reduction kit :S i was told the wheels where off a 03 my bad for not checking.. so from what i can tell the rear will go on no problem. TA

I'm trying to go the other way - fitting a newer ktm front wheel (26mm spindle) to an 02 501e 20mm spindle. I cant see why I can't just fit new bearings in the hub with a 20mm hole ?????? but then again I do often miss the point.

PS - searched here but cant get a finite answer.

PPS The talon web site is really good for sussing what wheels off what bikes have what spindle sizes.

From what i have read, you cant go the other way with any after market stuff.. but I'm sure you could get a machine shop to make you a axle with a 26mm inner and a 20mm outer sides.. it looks like a easy job to me.. what wheel is it? supermoto? could do you a swap :) i only got the 02 wheels as they look like new and my 06 wheels are very ugly and rusted as the spokes are just chrome plated.

The easiest way of fitting newer wheels on the older bike is to just make new wheelspacers,20mm inside diameter instead of 26mm.

Cheers for the advice re the spacers - I'll look into that.

Re a swop - I haven't got the wheels yet - seems to be a bit of a minefield especially if you're trying to do it on the cheap (not just for the money, but a bit of fun learning as well).

Have a look at some posts I sent earlier - not a huge amount of response...if I can get this sussed I'll write it up (bit like Cy's "bargain basement") except I want it to be a bit easier than his experience.

if you want it to be really easy buy my wheels. :D

all you need apart from the caliper bracket

I have a set from my 04 berg but they have the 26mm axle on front! also the front wheel has rust on the spokes as they are only chrome plated but the rear isn't to bad just a vanity thing really as they work fine and the rims are spot on.. £150 but you would need to pay for shipping from the Isle of Man.
