Hey guys,

I'm looking for a FS 650. And I found one that I would like to buy. So this week it's about to happen. I hope to have a lot fun with it.

one quick question, is there a difference between an engine from before 2004 and after 2004. I heard that the engines from before 2004 aren't that good. How can you know if the engine comes from before or after 2004?

greetings,

there probably is a number somewhere on the engine where you can see the year older bikes have different ignition and als the carburator is different newer bikes have keihin fcr carb I believe and are 628cc instead of 644....

The clutch cover has its own separate inspection cover.
On the other side the ignition is Kokusan instead of the older SEM. Four bolts on the cover instead of three on the older ones.
And a Keihin flat slide FCR carb instead of the round slide Dellorto.

Good luck and enjoy,

Carl

There sould be some numbers on the ignition side in the area of the husaberg logo cast in. 651 should be the first numbers if it is a 650 then the build year, then the engine number.
