FS 570 - Question re. top-end servicing

Hi Guys

I have now done about 100 trouble free hrs on my '10 FS570 motor, no racing...love this bike!

So far I have done all the servicing as per manual and at 90 hrs it says to replace the piston, camshaft bearings, etc.

What is the experience here on the forum, is this really necessary? What could I do to check without taking the top-end off?

Cheers

just ride it. 400 hours will come up in the blink of an eye. the tappets never seem to need doing either.

regards

Taffy

Mines just clocked up 200 hrs on original piston and bearings. Runs and sounds the same as it always has. Burns no oil. So far just done routine maintenance, oil/filter, air filter etc, valves done once. Only non scheduled item was replacement of the OE cam chain tensioner with a manual type. Just gonna keep running it and deal with any problems as they arise.

My fs570 has almost 180 hours on the clock I'm planning to ride to +-240/250 hours and than do a small rebuild
No problems on mine to except for fuel pomp/injector/fuel tank that needed to be cleaned (bike stalled and wouldn't run anymore @+-160 hours)
I have installed a tanksock now it takes 3-4 minutes to fuel the bike
But small price to pay to be sure nothing gets in my fuel pomp/injector
Use it for everything commute to work abusing it on country roads a few trackdays bike has been great :bounce3:
