Hi All,
First post so be gentle.....lol
Apart from riding and tinkering, my other pastime is light Engineering work ie Turning and Milling.
I was recently give the task of resurrecting a badly bruised front axle from a 1999 FE 600.
This axle came to me with a Bearing (6302) firmly wedges on the axle, which with some persuasion I was able to remove. I have since cleaned up the axle and repaired damaged thread etc., But I am thinking that the 6302 bearing is the wrong bearing.
Looking at the parts diagram it looks like the bearing actually sits on the spacer, which would require a bearing with a larger ID.
Be great to here other ppls thoughts as I have not seen the entire wheels set up in person and owner is not sure what bits he has.
