Front wheel bearing and spacer FE350

Hi all

I am in the process of replacing my front wheel bearings and seals (2013 FE350). I will also replace the external spacers as mine have been chopped out a bit.

I have driven the bearings in until they contact the lip on the inside of the hub.

How much of a gap (if any) should there be between the internal spacer tube and the inside of the bearings?

I'm concerned that there is a 2-3mm gap in mine. :unsure:

I'm able to drive mine snug to the inner tube, I have a husaberg 390 but it shouldn't matter...

I can't drive the bearings any further than the lip on the inside of the hub.

Will have a closer look tonight.

The bearings are all the way in.

One seal appears to be able to be fitted into the hub more deeply than the other.

The first seal sits up against the bearing and is flush with the outside of the hub

The other seal, when seated against the bearing, sits about 3-4mm inside the hub.

Should both seals be seated flush with the edge of the hub?

The position of the seal is not as important as the 2-3mm gap between your internal spacer and bearings.
If you leave the gap there then when you do the axle up it will preload the bearings in an undesirable way.
As the external spacers get grooved from the seals it is not uncommon to move the seals out a bit so the lip runs on a new piece of spacer.
but do double check that gap between the internal spacer and the bearings..... something is not right.

It sounds safer to just install a new internal spacer - thanks for advice.
