Front hand brake needs adjusting, maybe replacing

Gday folks,

My hand brake lever nearly pulls into the hand grip. (FE650) it works well, no drama, but such long travel.

I have used the black knob there to adjust it out as far as possible, till it fell off doh, its on, but no adjustment left.

So what are my options ?

Cheers David

First and foremost change your brake fluid. It should be changed every year. I use a Mityvac which makes the process go fast.

If you haven't changed your brake pads for awhile now would be a good time.

Mine was doing something similar with new brake pads and fluid, no matter how well I bled it. I thought my master was bad, but my rotor was pretty badly grooved/worn so I replaced both pads and rotor and bingo - Got my brake back.

Check your rotor if it is badly worn.
