RE: ah a different view?

Im coming back to 100mm sag from 105 for my net ride. Thanks . And Dale I know your going to tell me I need a stiffer spring, and your probably right, because im nearly 220 with all the gear on right now. I plan on losing 10 pounds though  205 now with 15 pounds gear

RE: ah a different view?

I rode the bike at 100mm sag and took a few hill climbs. It responds better in turns and even feels more nimble. That's what I was looking for. Like I said I wasn't unhappy to begin with , just wanrted a fine tune. Im not changing anything else, even though I realize at my weight I need the 88/250 spring and not just the heavier 84/250. I went 1 up from stock. My weight is comi ng down now around 203lbs. I want to be 195lbs and then see where the spring preload is at 100mm sag. I do appreciate the help.

RE: ah a different view?

When I first got my 05 650 in mid 07 after a coupe of rides I checked the stock suspension settings. But I checked them with the 06 service manual that was given to me by the dealer. He didn't have the 05 book and said they were the same. So I see that the rear shock is set backwards as far as clicker adjustments. Or so I was led to believe. Actually they were right at 15 out compression and 22 out for rebound. 06 is 22 out compression and 15 out rebound so I changed it. The fork setings I changed also as they were just a little different. So then I rode the bike around for way too long at this incorrect ajustment untill I downloaded the 05 book and discovered that they were right in the beginning. I changed them back to stock 05 and now I can appreciate how they are meant to be. Oh well!
