Front axle auxilliary screw?

2010 Fe450 Little help? Can anyone tell me what this is/does? Fig 40 on fiche? its a 10 or 12mm hex head bolt on the rotor side of the axle under the axle nut. When I tighten it seems to ratchet or click? I just finished replacing the brake pads and installed a new rotor and now the brakes seem to drag, plenty of freeplay at the lever and stops great- could it be related to the auxilliary screw? (and what does it do??!!) There's no mention of it in the manual and I've worn out google searching!

Any insight would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance,

Adam

Its plastic right? Same on my 08 fe450, only thing i found it useful for is keeping dirt out and if you need to turn the axling while pullin it out. [emoji1303]

And no has nothing to do with your brake issue! If it drags then most likely because the pads and disc havent aligned properly. Spin the wheel fast by hand and just press the brake lever hard a couple of times and it should self align fine if you've bled and assembled properly. Otherwise might be warpage or the sliding bolt for the caliper could be a bit dirty.
