Front and rear sprockets

Hello everyone!

I own a FS 550e from 2007 with both original sprockets — 16T and the front and 38T at the rear.

I'm struggling to find some new sprockets (the rear one preferably in black or gold) for this same measures.

Also, I've heard some people saying that the sprockets from the KTM 450/525 from 2006 or something would also fit these "older" bergs, is that right?

Any information appreciated.
Thanks!

Hi There. I recently bought front and rears for my FS650e. The rears are pretty easy to track down; I now have a Renthal 45 and a KTM 50. The front is a bit harder! The Renthal and KTM front sprockets didn't fit my bike. The Renthal parts say that they do fit, but dont... I ended up ordering a 14T and 16T from gearheads.com. There are heaps of online OEM sites to use, but gearheads worked for me. Cheers! Richard.

Hey there,
just had a quick look on the Australian ebay and there were plenty for sale ,both front and rear.
I used to run a 16 front and never had problems getting them.
I think the front will fit some older husqavana and one of the KTM models, cant remember which ones though.

I run an ironman rear sprocket from a ktm 525

best sprockets in the world

very light and tough, they come with high tensile bolts with an 8mm hex head so you can really tighten them up

16/38 is ridiculously tall gearing that they put on them to pass top gear drive by noise restrictions.

6th gear is obsolete with 16/38 and 16/40 exept for road racing courses.

I've been running 16/45 and am very happy with my FS650 with that gearing. It cruises along at 70-75 no problem, and will do a ton still.

The best part of running shorter gearing is it gives you two different gears for each corner, (not at all possible with tall gearing)

I'm changing to 17/47 with a dirt tricks ironman rear.

Will a 17t fit one the front, I know on my 04 you had to just about pull the plastic chain runner off to get a 16t on and wasn't much room there against the swing arm.?

apparently the 17 fits.. there was an old post on a husky 17 being used by someone

I think it would at least eat the front of the chain slider on the swingarm

I got tired of unscrewing and contorting the chain slider to get a 16t on or off.

Boss told me a trick, glue it with black RTV, then cut it where it wraps around the swingarm.

Result is piece of cake sprocket removal and installation. And the kicker...
No more flappity flap flap from the slider.

I saw that post where he had grinded down two teeth a little, then on the next time he just lined it up and hit it with a rubber hammer.

I want 17/47 so I can go to 14/47 for knobbies and use the same chain. I have a spare Kush hub, so will lace it to a 18" wheel, so I can just swap the sprocket carrier.

Also, I've heard a bigger rear sprocket helps with traction, pulling the wheel down to the ground more than a smaller one, so there's that.

Revisiting this thread for a quick update and a quick question :)

UPDATE:

Got this setup on the picture.

Rear sprocket looks beautiful and fits perfectly. The problem is the front sprocket... couldn't be more off.

What went wrong: I looked on Renthal's website using the "fit my bike" feature but since there was no "FS 550E" for me to choose I went with the closest one "FS 650E" and it found this sprocket I got (292--520-15GP) which doesn't fit my bike.

For some reason, if I choose the "FE 550" I get the 295--520-14P.

QUESTION:

I don't know for sure which one fits my bike (it isn't the 292 for sure) but I need it to be 15T and it should replace this part number: 80033029015

Can anyone with experience on Renthal sprockets give me a hand here?

This is a JT part number I believe..

And this is that 17t I was talking about.

It's an AFAM, I got it from Drive Systems USA. They are in SoCal, and had it on the shelf. Their phone number is (714) 379-nine zero four zero

I did a quick polish on it, it comes with a goldish coating on it, like a grade 8 bolt. It's made of chromoly.

Part number: 64302A-17 Substitute a 15 at the end for 15t.

I'm not sure if I can trust that "HUSABERG (ALL YEARS)" since I ordered a Renthal's for a FS 650 from 2007 and it doesn't fit my FS 550 from 2007...

Thanks for all the AFAM info but I'm specifically looking for a Renthal alternative.

Can anyone expand a bit more of what Kayeffess said above? What Husky exactly is it?

(`_´)ゞ The husqys are listed on the bag on the top pic.

Husaberg all years means up to and including 2008. The label was printed before 2009 probably.

Trust me.. It fits.

Fwiw, on AFAM's site they have a dealer locator.

I am using talon front sprocket - TG321.
Here You have got proper renthal sprocket number - 295--520-14P
last part would be probably number of teeth so I would get 295--520-15P for standard, 295--520-15GP for grooved one.

@Idle, don't get me wrong! I'm not saying that JT sprocket won't fit!
What I was trying to say is that if there was such sprocket that would fit all Bergs until 2008 that also means that the FS 650 and FS 550 would share the same sprockets, which isn't true (as it seems).

Here's a pic on the 16T that I had originally on my FS 550:

And here's a pic of the Renthal I ordered (for an FS 650, I thought it would be the same):

As you can see, the first one has 12 dents on the inside while the other one has 15!

They don't even look similar from profile neither:

I had a 2002 cr250 husky. Engines were the same for the cr/wr from that 2000 and maybe earlier right through 2013. I could take my front and put it right on the berg. I got the idea from the docs. Maybe someday they will reappear on here. Lots of good info on them by good people is being lost grrrr. Lots of empty promises regarding them.

I don't want to drive anyone crazy here, just trying to figure out myself what move should I do next.

Here's what I got so far:

HUSABERG FS 650E 2007 – 292-520-15
HUSABERG FE 550 2007 – 295-520-15
HUSQVARNA CR 250 2002 – 293-520-15

According to manuals, both 550 and 650 use the same sprocket part number...

I honestly have no ideia what to do. It looks like the more I dig the more contradicting things I find...

EDIT:

Looks like a pattern here. For some reason the 650 uses a different part number from Renthal but are the same on the manuals...
According to this pattern I would say I should order the 295, although according to Kayeffess I should get the 293 (from the Husky).

HUSABERG FS 450E 2007 – 295-520-15
HUSABERG FS 650E 2007 – 292-520-15

HUSABERG FE 450 2007 — 295-520-15
HUSABERG FE 550 2007 — 295-520-15
HUSABERG FE 650E 2007 – 292-520-15

HUSQVARNA CR 250 2002 – 293-520-15

Facts..
Renthal sent you the wrong sprocket.
They have the wrong one listed.
They may, or may not be able to send you the right one.
The 450,550,650 from 2003-2008 use the same sprocket.

And...I'm pretty sure the older bergs, (pre 2003) 600,501,470, use the same one as well.
