Well I couldn't take it any more. We got around 50" of fresh snow, but I had a new berg and I was getting a little burn't out on sledding. So on friday night I loaded up and went to Moab with 4 of my buddies. Can't say how excited I was to try this thing out! On saturday morning I let it idle for 15 minutes like we are supposed to do, I had done it once but at 7700 feet. Now I Was at about 4000.Didn't like doing that it sure seemed hot! But the radiator never over heated so I tried to not let it bug me to much. I love the bike it's quiet, smooth ton's of power, don't know if I really need a 570. I did have a few flame outs, kind of weird, but in the big picture of things, could really give a crap.Suspension got better ever mile,so did the engine. I purposely abused the **** out of the electric start, constantly killing it and starting,(rubbing it in to my friends how nice the electric start worked!)It never ever gave a hint of any problem. Probably my favorite thing about the bike was how you don't have to search for neutral to restart, I just shut it off and when it was time to go pull in the clutch and press the button and haul butt!
Fuel mileage wasn,t great, the odo quit at 32 mi,I would guess 55 -60 and she was dry. I was the first to run out of all the bikes. A stock yzf 250 06 Stock tank went at least 10 more miles than me.I would guess I probably put on a 100 miles. It was every thing I expected and more, can't wait to break it in and get used to it. It's a pretty cool bike
can't imagine there are many bikes that will run with this thing,It makes alot of horsepower and like all the Bergs I have had before the more time you get on them the better they get!

kadlec,
got some q'sif you don't mind....
> is the exhaust quiet because of a restrictive exhaust can?
> is the motor quiet because it's missing engine/gear whine?
> is the 570 too big because of the power or because of the handling changes compared to a 450?

also,
> how does it feel compared to a 450 ktm?
> does it seem like a 2 stroke in the handling?

thanks

looking forward to fr3.
buy you a beer there.

Hey Tuts,
The stock can would be my 1st choice. It's quiet and the bikes have plenty of power. But..it doesn't have spark arrestor..so it is useless to me because I have to have one. I have a setup that Boss recommended. It's a PMB end cap with S/A and a KTM 250 SXF Core. The end cap is $135 the core is $150..plus it take about an hour to build. It works fine..i really like it but in the future I am doing to use the FMF Ti System available for HBG. I have also sold LeoVince cans that bolt right on too. This is per BOSS recommendations.
The engine is just a modern, high tech, quiet 4-stroke! It is amazing. The earlier models engine whine didn't bother me..my hearing isn't that good anyway.
The 570 isn't too big..it's just I am more a 1st gear root, rock, technical rider. I am sure the 450 will do everything the 570 will. I am going to be 48yrs old...I have a hard time hanging on anymore!!! lol
I don't know how it compares to a 450 KTM...I am not a fan of KTM's and wouldn't ride one! lol In my mind there is no comparison.
I rode an '06 YZ250 in Moab last Sat and Sun and it doesn't handle like a 2-stroke..but..in the same breath..riding the YZ down the road in between trails would drive me insane..you need to compare apples to apples.
It is very easy to ride, very light feeling, there is nothing like it that I have ever ridden. But it is a 4-stroke...you can't compare to a 2-stroke.
Nice to hear from you. Looking forward to seeing you and everyone else next fall.
The riding here will ever bit as good as Moab and much much more!

Fritz,
Blitzing through the Slickrock trail in 20 minutes that last day with you and Nick and that crazy dude on the KX was a highlight of my trip to Moab. To this day, my front fender has permanent black marks under it from slamming into the steep rock transitions at speed.

Colorado will be epic!
