Hey there! I accidentally purchased an extra frame when I bought my bike recently. I checked through the VIN decoder on the site, and it looks like this might've been a pretty early bike in the 1994 production year? I'd like to know a little more about the bike though to see if it's worth rebuilding, and thought someone here may have some insight? I believe its a 94 model year 501? VIN is as follows YU7FE501R0000004 any insight is appreciated! Thanks!

1994 is the first year of the yellow frames. seems a low number too!

the 1989-1993s are the rearest, oldest and most fickle with a lack of information. By 1994, they'd upgraded the gearbox and changed a few things. go to the download area for parts books for free etc.

as for doing them up or 'are they worth it' well we think so....

Those early bergs were maintenance intensive, but worth the effort. I have two 1998's and bunches of parts. I desert raced Huskies thru the eighties, but when i bought a new '98 Berg 501 from Sportsman Cycle in 'Vegas i was hooked.

Thanks for the responses guys! Along with the frame I was lucky enough to score a 501 bottom end, the swingarm for the frame, front/rear wheels and the muffler portion of the exhaust as well. Sounds like I might save it for a rainy day project!
