Force Ride 5 - Moab, UT

brad: back in the late 70's, i became a ktm dealer when john penton quit putting his name on them.
i remember going to meetings in lorain, ohio in an old neisner's department store building (ktm usa headquarters) and we were all bitching that corporate wasn't doing enough to promote the brand. (maico was outselling them).
maybe we got what we asked for?

Just getting back after 8 years off. Do I need to wil this into existence? It would probably take till fall to get it put together.

Hi Ken, away 8 years and still has over 3,000 posts! says it all mate! Quality!!!

when i last looked at this, I tried the new campsite with better accomodation but I kept talking to quite the dimmest Woman i ever did. I lost the will to live after that.

But i think a direct chat by phone would have yielded results.

cheers

I would say slick rock campground again. I think it has the right vibe. It is probably the most budget friendly as well. From what I here it has not changed much. ( read no improvements). It allows for cabin, tent or rev camping all in one place.

Nothing but the finest for this group.

One - to me - really important point to consider: I have the feeling that I am getting too old for sleeping in a tiny tent on hard soil ...

Having said that, I haven't been here in a long time ... and my last time in Moab was in 2003 or so. On a KTM 300 - with a blown power valve ...

Maybe I should ship the beast ('97 FE501e) back to the states and join the ride. I can't get her street legal in Austria anyway, despite the nice California license plate. At the moment, she should have about 29 hours of engine time left, since she has the tendency to blow up on me every 30 hours ...

Greetings from Vienna

Franz

so you're not going to mention the barbaric ritual and innitiation ceremony for "ye of the orange wickedness" then Ken?

Hello All

My future ex-girlfriend lives in Moab, owns Chile Pepper Bike Shop, and I live in Moab part time as well. If anyone is coming this way let me know and I'd be happy to take you for a ride.

just want to put in my notes on Moab, UT. been there twice for the jeep easter si, perfect weather in the 80s daytime, first was 2012 on the 570, rode the wall next to the escalator twice - thought about riding down - too scary. Next time was on my new 2011 390 in 2017 at the jeep safari again. Good times with lots of people to spectate with at potato salad hill, punchbowl, escalator, etc. Seems now Im reaching the age when every moment counts = grateful for 50+ years riding the U.S. west , not done yet- Lord willing.

I remember FR1 at Moab being a great time. I'd consider going again, but like Ned I'm not sure that I'd ride. Be fun anyway and if Taffy, Ned and Berger are going I wouldn't want to miss it. I'll have to pull my old '98 FX600 out of storage.

Ned! That's just mean!
I honestly thought that Husabergs could run submerged.
Actually I followed the wrong guy and we rode right into a deep hole. Thanks again to all of you for drying me out.
