i picked up a fmf jetting kit for 450 exc/ mxc / sx today. (also because they where only £19)

apart from a rather snazzy box, that now contains all my other jets rather more safely than the zip lock bag i was using, and a load of fmf stickers the kit contains.

1 x needle - no code on the needle so i'll take some measurements and those who know what they mean can comment.

A variety of main jets - 142, 146, 150, 155, 160, 165.

1 x 48 pilot jet.

reading the blurd they recommend installing the 155 main for anywhere below 3000 ft - thats me, 48 pilot and their needle with clip 2nd from top. with the fuel screw 1 turn out.

will give it a go to see what it does.

currently i 've got pretty standard jetting apart from a 165 main rather than the 178 so if i remember whats in mine correctly the main is coming down, the pilot is going up, the needle clip is the same and the fuel screw is closing half a turn.

we'll see what happens.

i havent swapped the jetting over yet so havent had the needles side-by-side but the new one does seem rather fat.

if this is the case would that be why they say to run the 48 pilot jet? to compensate?

please dont laugh too much, as you can tell i'm not up on jetting, as long as it starts, goes and stops i'm happy most of the time.

just FWIW i found that in general the lil mains work very well but need a smaller MAJ than the stock #200 I use a #160 MAJ with about a 155 main. for the riding I do I didn't want to go below a 165 main with the stock #200 MAJ.

its not "supposed" to change anything exept high RPM but it seems to alter the entire range just a tad, the pilot area too, even though the PAJ is suposed to take care of that bit it seems like its all connected.

the needle looks very trick :D
