Would that be under Yamaha's warranty

Seriously, I did ask.

May have pulled it off lest the witness marks regarding all pistons repeatedly striking the cylinder head.

Kablammo!

But mister Yamaha rep you have to cover this under warranty, the bike was only ridden to the mosque by grandma on Sundays.

The failure was without doubt as a result of insufficient deck clearance for the sustained 13,500 plus rpm. Alas, by my decision and hand. :(

Very impressive that you snapped a rod in 2 places. I have oftern managed 1 but 2 is good going.

Thank's. :?
I think. LOL

I would assume that the piston was not making contact with the head during bench tests. Was the clearance problem due to crankshaft flex, heat expansion or ?

Sustained "Brake" Dynamometer testing proved flawless.

A very long uphill straight ending in a closed throttle high rpm sweeper allowed things to get ugly.

I was off by roughly .08mm (.003") for the conditions.
