Flywheel weight?

I've been giving the 97 FE501 i just got a thurough inspection. I pulled the ingnition cover off, and the flywheel has what looks like a brass ring pressed onto it. I'm guess this isn't factory, but im still new to the world of husabergs.

I know the bike and I know the ring.

Said ring was added to increase rotating mass in an effort to reduce stalling.
