The manual for the 02 models in europe says the setting is the one covered?
Mines definately got more low end when the switch is covering low...... maybe different in the states.

My manual says the same, you can also feel the difference especially when on high the bike pulls stronger at high revs.

the setting is the one that is exposed, not covered

i just looked it up in the only manual i have which is the '02 gb version and it is as you say, the one that is covered. i could swear i had a reason for it being the other wat round, but it escapes me at the moment. sorry
